Voting for the Bicycle Network 2022 Board election will be open from Monday 10 October.
Eligible members will receive an email with instructions about how to vote. Under our constitution, Bicycle Network members aged 18 and over who have been members for more than 9 months are eligible to vote.

Key dates
Voting in the Board elections is open from 9am, Friday 22 September – 5pm, Friday 6 October.
All current Bicycle Network members, 18 years or older, are eligible to vote via our online portal – My Account.
New board members will be announced at Bicycle Network’s Annual General Meeting in October. The results are also published on our website.

2017 Bicycle Network board candidates
Peter Robinson
Candidate statement:
My passion is for Bicycle Network to:
- maximise female rider participation
- improve rider and road user safety and education
- expand safe bike routes
- increase the membership base
- continue its strong advocacy role with local councils, state governments and road organisations
- Expand and improve membership services including insurance.
Keir Paterson
Current Board member, standing for re-election
Candidate statement:
Cycling saved my life, so I’m passionate about getting more people riding for fun and transport and will advocate strongly for improved safety and infrastructure. I’ve been a Board member for one year and want to continue working to make Bicycle Network a more effective advocacy group. For info: keir4bikenetwork.wordpress.com
Kate Eddy
Candidate statement:
I have extensive experience in senior fundraising and management roles in not-for-profits including Greening Australia and Bush Heritage. A Bicycle Network member since 2011 when I moved to Australia, previously a member of the UK CTC (Cyclists’ Touring Club), I have enjoyed participating in Ride the Night and Ride2Work.
Bill Forrest
Candidate statement:
I strongly support the work BN does to make cycling safe, fun, a transport mode that reduces carbon emissions and promotes good health. A senior officer in Councils for more than 20 years, I have worked on advocacy campaigns including with BN, but there is much more governments can do.
Neil Baird-Watson
Candidate statement:
- Passionate about advancing cycling
- Press all governments for much more funding for cycling infrastructure
- Motorist / Cyclists education
- Increase participation, especially women
- Promoting positive health outcomes
- Strong Australia wide Road Laws
- Experienced Trustee in not-for-profit
